BSA Plunger Rear 1949-53 #48-4

This mudguard was used on a number of the larger A, B series and M series models, some with minor variations. Finished at 158mm wide x 58mm deep, it is a BSA profile D section mudguard with rib. The guard is two-piece with a step-down overlap join ready for the two stepped fixing bolts on raised reinforced pressings. The tail is slightly ducktailed and has a riveted bracket. The front half also has a riveted bracket and a chainguard relief pressing which has a folded safety edge. The forward mounting bracket’s position is particular to each installation and as such is supplied as a blank for riveting during fitting to the frame.
